Yes, fcitx5-sogou works! Btw needs to install manjaro-asian-input-support-fcitx5, and maybe some Chinese fonts such as open chinese fonts, in order for fcitx5-sogou to work as Chinese/ Asian language input. OMG, problem solved! Thank you team manjaro linux!!
The problem is not solved. I thought it’s solved. The sogou input bar is not behaving well. For example, when I type to the end of the sentence, the input bar is not align with the screen. It’s cut off. And the sogou input, for the previous version the non fcitx5 version, I could use the setting, to download other vocab package. But with this fcitx sogu, I can’t.
I mean I could install fcitx5 sogou but it’s off… The problem is not really solved…
I neither read or speak or write the language - I’d like to, but:
I just don’t.
I don’t have the need - nor the opportunity to practice.
Some people here will know - and they will be able to help.
I just never had the problem of having to input text that way.
Even if I learn the language some day, I’ll likely never have to use that method.
Who knows? …
It’s astounding what difficulties these different ways of representing text can create.
… like:
half or a quarter (or at least some very significant percentage) of the world population uses these
There have to be workable/usable solutions …
As nobody has addressed this, please note that this error was due to a mismatched checksum.
Either the sogoupinyin_4.2.1.145_amd64.deb
was damaged or the PKGBUILD
file contained the wrong hash.
Either way, you should probably contact the maintainer of the package and complain, ever so nicely.
Regards.
