Cannot get Chinese input method to work

I use fcitx5 for non-english typing. I’ve recently been trying to configure typing in Chinese but can’t get it to work. I’ve installed fcitx5-chinese-addons and manjaro-asian-input-support-fcitx5, restarted fcitx5, rebooted my computer, but the input method still doesn’t work. The only options available as input methods are “Keyboard - Chinese - Hanyu Pinyin Letters (with AltGr dead keys)” and “Keyboard - Chinese”, and neither of them does anything. Hitting the tab key doesn’t do anything, no candidates pop up like with the Anthy ime for Japanese. I already have the environment variables for fcitx5 configured in /etc/environment, and I’ve looked at this post and this post. Is there anything else I’m missing somewhere?

Install manjaro-asian-input-support-fcitx instead of manjaro-asian-input-support-fcitx5.

Will that not conflict with fcitx5?

Both are in logical conflict of input. Just remove fctix5 that is still bug on KDE and interferes with other applications.

I figured out what the problem was. I should have been searching for the “Pinyin” input method in the settings. I found it, added it, and switching to Chinese works as it should. I do appreciate the suggestions, however.
