I recently purchased a Pine64 laptop. I have not been able to get internet access working. Network Management repeatedly attempts to configure the wireless connection, but reports, “Connection failed”, followed by “Wireless Interface (wlan0) IP configuration was unavailable”.
(I have xfinity internet.)
I double checked that I set the wifi password correctly in System Settings -> Connections -> WiFi Security. I am accessing the same wifi access point successfully from a Windows laptop, which tells me I have the wifi access point name and password correct. Also, I recently configured a new Amazon Fire tablet to use the xfinity router with no problem.
In another post, someone suggested doing ‘rfkill -r’ to see if wireless is blocked. It reported:
0 wlan phy0 unblocked unblocked
… so this is not the problem.
Excerpt from inxi -F:
System: Host: markbeslinux Kernel: 5.7.2-1-MANJARO-ARM aarch64 bits: 64 Desktop: KDE Plasma 5.19.0
Distro: Manjaro ARM
(lines deleted, if I try to post the entire output, the site says ‘links are not allowed’…)
Network: Message: No ARM data found for this feature.
IF-ID-1: wlan0 state: down mac: 10:2c:6b:1b:a5:dc
It would seem something needs to be done with wlan0, but I don’t know what…
I would appreciate any help. Without internet connectivity, the Pine64 will not be of much use to me. Thanks.
Here is an excerpt from dmesg, showing 2 attempted connections.
I have not been able to connect to any other wireless network. I am able to connect to this wireless network successfully with a Windows 10 laptop and a Fire tablet.
