I gave another option, so you don’t need this key at all.
You also were having trouble getting into the BIOS and the GRUB menu at the same time. It was a little confusing.
I saw you were live booting from others’ help, specially @dmt , so the questions I asked were the key things we need to know. So after you update-grub, what is the contents of /boot/grub/grub.cfg.
The other 2 things, were also very useful for booting issues. Not some random tangent. But like I said, I’m done. (Seriously though, about to be out of reception for at least 4 hours.)
I’m really sorry for the mess I created.
I forgot to answer the boot menu question because I misunderstood it. I thought you were referring to the GRUB menu which I don’t have anymore but you were obviously were referring to the Bios Boot menu. Sorry for that.
The Bios Boot Menu offers these choices:
Windows Boot Manager (SATA6G_5: Samsung SSD…)
M.2_1 Samsung SSD … (This is where Manjaro is installed)
UEFI OS (M.2_1 Samsung SSD…)
Disabled
The Motherboard is an ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F and the graphics Card is an RTX4090.
I just followed the GRUB reinstall procedure from omano and was able to restore GRUB. Both the Windows as well as the Manjaro partitions are now bootable from GRUB.
So that problem is seems to be solved but now I have another one: Manjaro doesn’t wakes up the display anymore after a standby. I have to disconnect and reconnect the HDMI cable and then I get the log in screen. This only happens after Standby. I tested Windows and there is no problem waking up after a standby.
First of all thank you all for helping me solving the boot issue!
Do you have the nerves to figure out this new problem or should I just not use standby.
If yes, should I start a new thread to investigate this or can we continue here?
Well you should probably post or mark your solution for unable to get into grub, if there is one, and yeah… It is a completely different problem, suited to people familair with the propetiary Nvidia drivers most likely.
Except that it was @dmt who first gave you that information in the form of a direct link, along with other useful information.
Solution post adjusted accordingly. Cheers.
