You could not have done it like this:
because the devtools package is not available for Manjaro
So, the “traditional” way would be to fetch the kernel source, replace that file and compile it.
Then copy it to where the original module was.

can’t be used verbatum on Manjaro - that directory (build) does not exist - not to my knowledge
That command could not have been successful.
You would have needed to adapt it.
One more hint:
If it still doesn’t work with the recompiled module … then it doesn’t work.
