My laptop’s built in microphone has disappeared from Firefox, the volume icon in the task bar, and in the settings. The speakers are working correctly, however.
Where do I start diagnosing the problem?

Where do I start diagnosing the problem?
You should start by providing informations about your system, there’s a nice guide here on the forum for how to ask support in the best way.
I had the same problem too yesterday with the testing branch. Since it was a fresh install I just decided to go back and reinstall, and I’m sticking on stable now. I think there was a kernel update in the middle, maybe it was relate though it was present with 5.10 and 5.12 as well.
What information about my system would be helpful to know?
This issue persists in kernel 5.10, 5.11, and 5.12.

That’s an issue introduced with one of the latest updates in stable, I was affected as well.
It’s already fixed in testing, so you can either switch to testing channel, or you wait for the next stable update.
Is there an ETA on the next stable update? Alternately if its too long away, is it possible to manually downgrade the package that is causing the issue?
I don’t know. Maybe somebody from the Manjaro Team would.
Downgrading could be done e.g. by installing an older package from the pacman cache via
sudo pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/package-name+version-here
But you’d need to know the responsible package first and I don’t.
Yeah exactly, would be great if someone knew which precise package caused the issue!
If you don’t want to update to testing, this solution worked for me Manjaro Gnome on lenovo T14s AMD no input device (mic) since last update - #34 by mdedetrich . It basically involves downgrading some Alsa packages, after reboot my mic is now working without problems.
