this surfaced very recently, perhaps with the last update - i noticed it a few days ago
wg-quick up works fine, but when importing the config into networkmanager and activating it the connection is broken, or at least mostly broken (mtr shows very high or 100% packet loss starting at the 1st hop)
nmcli connection import type wireguard file '/etc/wireguard/<file.conf>'
