Suspend not working as expected

Hey everyone,

I recently installed Manjaro again and now wanted to suspend my computer.
However, what I’ve noticed is that the computer never goes to sleep (like it does on Windows) but instead it shows the OEM screen of my motherboard and then boots right back into the login manager of Manjaro.

Is this a common issue or did I forget to turn something on?

Welcome to Manjaro! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

  1. Please read the information behind this link. It will help you to post necessary information.
  1. Please press the three dots below your post and then press the :pencil2:
  • If you give us information about your system, we can see what we’re talking about and make better suggestions.
  • You can do this by using inxi in a terminal or in console.
sudo inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width
  • Personally identifiable information such as serial numbers and MAC addresses are filtered out by this command
  • Presenting the information in this way allows everyone to be familiar with the format and quickly find the items they need without missing anything.
  1. Copy the output from inxi (including the command) and paste it into your post.
  • To make it more readable, add 3 backticks ``` on an extra line before and after the pasted text.

Have you already :mag: for your problem in the forum ? (Wisdom lies in asking → listening → reading  )

Did that!
Hope this makes things clearer!

Please provide also:

cat /sys/power/mem_sleep
journalctl --boot -1 | sed -n -r "/Starting.+Suspend/,/Finished.+Suspend/p"

:notebook: switch the number -1, if no output.

Probably this can hinder the suspend, since the nvidia gpu will never sleep with KMS enabled. Also note that this mode is considered as experimental by the nvidia documentation.

s2idle [deep]

That gives me no output at all, no matter what number I put in there.

And should I also disable the drm modeset? That was from when I tried to make Wayland work on NVIDIA but that never really worked either.

Thanks for the quick answer tho!

Small Update:
I removed the drm-modeset flags and still have the same issue as before.
The PC never goes to sleep, the screen freezes and only starts working again when I turn it off and on again.

Since this is highly depended on the UEFI, update it: PRO Z690-A DDR4

Then provide the full output…

journalctl --boot -1 | curl -F'file=@-' https://0x0.st

That uploads it and prints a short link.
