Boot time alsactl error

The following is an error displayed during boot; I took it from /var/log/rc.log. Looks like there is some (non-critical) error in the configuration for alsactl.

You must have a mixer set up for “alsactrl” you probably see a message at boot time that no mixer is found.

How and where do I set that? The message I see at boot-time is exactly what I gave above.

Perhaps you are missing “alsa-utils-openrc” or you have not added it to run level with “sudo rc-update alsasound default”

I already have alsasound in the default runlevel, and it works; otherwise I wouldn’t be getting any sound in my speakers.
