Boot hangs after fresh install (intel-ucode fault)

Hi,

Did a fresh install on my laptop but unable to first boot.

I need to edit GRUB and remove the intel-ucode.img in order to get to login screen.

Is there anything I can do? I heard that intel-ucode is important to keep…

intel-ucode acts as a way of updateing your CPU microcode.
The first thing I would suggest to try is to update your UEFI/Firmware to the latest version as it too can update your CPU microcode, maybe you are on a faulty UEFI/Firmware version that causes issues.
