Boot Fail after kernel update

Hello all,

I've a boot problem after updating my system. I've tried giving kernel 5.2 a go, but the system will not boot anymore. I have a fallback for 5.19 which worked perfectly fine, but GRUB would not boot that either.

I'm using a xiaomi mi laptop, and the boot gets stuck at the "Mi" screen and I do not get any error messages.

Is this a GRUB problem ? and should I use the tutorial for restoring GRUB. Seems a bit counter-intuitive since I can get grub to load and I can choose which version of Manjaro I want to load.

Help is greatly appreciated.

Boot in level 3, at grub boot menu (not 5.2) press e to edit and replace quiet with 3 at kernel line, then press F10 to continue booting.

After you have entered username and password, try the following commands.

sudo pacman-mirrors -f5 && sudo pacman -Syyu

This terminal command will give your system's kernel information:

mhwd-kernel -li

If Kernel 5.2 is still installed, delete it with the following commands:

sudo mhwd-kernel -r linux52

If Kernel 5.2 is no longer installed, enter the following command.

sudo update-grub

Or via chroot.
Start a live stick, open a terminal and enter the following.

manjaro-chroot-a

Then you can choose your Manjaro system, it's probably the 0.

After that

sudo pacman-mirrors -f5 && sudo pacman -Syyu

If that does not help restore grub.
