6.12 is exactly the one that started the problem (maybe even minor version between 6.12.48-1 → 6.12.61-1). Is 6.12 LTS a specific version I should install differently?

6.17 fails even worse (no display), so probably it is not a good time to start investigating that.
Hopefully not. I bought the machine to use with linux, but one disk was pre-loaded with win iso. I did not install it and formatted all partitions as linux systems (ext4 mostly). Not sure if there is any deeper level where anything could be remaining.
BT was working quite well, can’t recall if completely perfectly. I used it with multiple devices (keyboard, mouse, a couple of headphones, speakers and a couple of game controllers). Wifi was a little glitchy. The problem started when I was asked to reboot after updating.
