BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth Controller not connecting to Manjaro desktop

My desktop is running linux 5.18.19-3-MANJARO.

I have the above mentioned controller and tried to connect it to a old usb bluetooth dongle, which lsusb reports as
0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode)

Not sure what version of bluetooth that dongle is, but was wondering if it may be too old?

Please fully update your system. Kernel 5.18 has been deprecated and is no longer receiving updates. Install either 5.15 which is a LTS kernel or 6.1 and see if anything changes. Give these two a read as a full inxi output might help somebody figure out a solution for your issue:
