I am looking for a system-container option (like LXC, QEMU, etc.) that is:
- easy to install
- requires minimum config
- can be exposed over the network easily
I am used to LXC but it requires too many moving parts to just ‘work’ without configs and changes to my desktop OS.
Is there an option that requires less technical knowledge and “just works”?
the closest to your requirements would be virtualbox

There is LXD, never used either tho, this seems higher level and more ’ just works’ then LXC if I read this correctly:
https://linuxcontainers.org/
Virtualbox, Gnome Boxes, Virt-Manager (my favorite) would get into the ‘just works’ territory
