I was previously on stable but after waiting 12hrs I did the update after making sure my mirrors were synced, it kinda worked except for a few things that are still being ironed out, like the pamac thing.
Since I do have a very few pakages from AUR I opted to also do the change to unstable after the doing the update on stable, even though I never really had any problems with conflicts in stable, only non system things installed (except for arguably goverlay and proton-GE)
pamac list -i | grep AUR ✔
cura-bin 5.4.0-1 AUR 662,6 MB
edid-decode-git r654.a31e680-1 AUR 402,4 kB
goverlay 0.9.1-1 AUR 6,6 MB
hw-probe 1.6.5-1 AUR 542,5 kB
proton-ge-custom-bin 1:GE_Proton8_6-1 AUR 1,3 GB
rar 6.22.0-1 AUR 1,2 MB
spotify 1:1.2.13.661-1 AUR 274,0 MB
usbimager 1.0.9-1 AUR 523,1 kB
vlc-pause-click-plugin 2.2.0-1 AUR 18,2 kB
vmware-keymaps 1.0-3 AUR 59,4 kB
vmware-workstation 17.0.2-1 AUR 920,1 MB
I got a few new pakages upgraded but the same small issues as in stable is still there.
A few things I notice.
- Community is still there when doing a
sudo pacman -Syu
, seems empty but still there.sudo pacman -Sc
did not remove community. - Mangohud is reported newer installed than available, I leave it be rather than downgrading with -Syuu until recommended otherwise. Maybe goverlay uses a new version, but I haven’t updated that for months.
- Wine seems to have issues (had on stable too), have not looked into it very much.
- My login and desktop tty has changed from always being on tty1 before to now tty2. My tty1 is stuck on my boot chatter (I have disabled spash and quiet).
Why is this change made, I have seen someone mentioning this behavior in other threads, but nothing in the update threads or anything, maybe it’s a KDE thing?

Edit
This screws up my way of waking my computer with wake-on-lan from outside (over internet) and then connecting to it with vlc. I can probably make changes, but then I HAVE TO KNOW if this is a bug or a feature (will it continue to be like this? I need to know what tty my login/desktop will be at)
