Battery Disconnection on Dell Latitude 7420

I am experiencing disconnection from the battery of my Dell Latitude laptop when booting into Manjaro.

The led starts flashing orange and if I reboot into “bios / uefi setup”, I consistantly find that the setting for the modality of battery usage has switched from “Adaptive” to “Express”.

Otherwise the led is completely off, looking like there is no battery connected.

However, the battery amount available is correctly displayed.

I wonder how the system is capable of changing bios settings.

The linux version of Dell command configure is not installed. I tried to use it to solve the problem, but it did not work.

The system is a dual boot with Windows 10 and this problem does not manifest itself when running Windows and boot it consecutively.

However, if I boot into Windows after linux, I will get the error message that there is no battery connected and this is solved after going into bios and switching back the battery mode from Express to Adaptive.

The DE is Gnome and I am running the latest LTS kernel.

It seems to me a Dell specific problem because I am running a similar system on a Lenovo laptop without problems.

Thanks a lot for any help.
