Battery consumption asus tuf gaming 705gd

Hello

I have a problem with my Asus laptop about battery consumption because I have only 1h-2h of battery life. Or with windows i’ts 5-6h approximately.

I use powertop and tlp (that I have configured). I tried optimus manager and slimbookbattery with no effects. I tested laptop-mode-tools but I have the same state with tlp.

my computer :

I use the last nvidia driver : video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-455-prime and the linux kernel 5.4 lts.

Someone can help me to improve my battery life ?

Edit : today i’m on wifi and I have on powertop :

I moved my message from laptop to network and wifi because I think the problem is with the network card. But I don’t know why.

Hi,

I have the same problem on a Dell G5 15. But the problem here is probably not your wifi. The problem is probably the nvidia driver 455. This driver is a hot mess! My battery life goes from 7 hours to an hour and a half at best after install installing nvidia-450xx.

I switch back to nvidia-440xx, but this workaround doesn’t work anymore after the manjaro team decided to drop all older drivers.

Hi

I switched to the 5.10 kernel last month and it’s a little bit better

But I don’t know why i have 13 W for Network interface: wlo1 (iwlwifi) ?

Now I have 2h30-3h30 of battery life. (depend of use)

I don’t know I there option on TLP or Powertop to reduce wifi consumption ?
