I’m running a Dell Vostro laptop. I’d been running an older version of Manjaro XFCE with zero problems for a few years, then, the autologin would stop working for no definable reason.
It didn’t matter whether there were updates or not, the autologin would stop working randomly after shutting down requiring me to go to settings and reset the autologin.
I thought the age of the system had something to do with it so I reinstalled using the 21.2.6 XFCE version. Fully up to date using the recommended 5.15.41-1 kernel.
There was an update just before posting this that required a restart and of course, I had to manually login, go to settings and reset the autologin.
What I’ve installed outside the Manjaro repo is Google Earth Pro [AUR], candy icons [AUR] and a VPN.
These installs never harmed anything before. Any ideas or information letting me know Arch or Manjaro is aware of this quirk and are working on it would be appreciated.
Thx in advance.
