Audio Crackling After Installing Manjaro-PipeWire

Hey all! I’m having an issue that I can’t seem to find a resolution to, I’ve looked at a few threads but I haven’t found any that resolve my issue specifically.

When I first installed Manjaro XFCE I had some serious audio delay, about 1-2 seconds delayed from video. Last time I ran into this on a previous install it was because both Pulse Audio and Pipe Wire was installed, which why does Manjaro install both of these audio servers? Seems kind of odd… But anyways.

I’ve completely removed pulse audio and have installed Manjaro-PipeWire. Though seems there’s still two audio servers, not sure if this is the issue.

Any ideas on how to fix this crackling at the start of the audio? Once things have gotten going the crackling goes away and everything is fine. It’s just on the start of any audio.

Thanks in advance!!

Looks like alsactl init has resolved it. Interesting! If it continues though I’ll be sure to read into the rest of it. For now everything seems fine. Thank you so much for the post!!

Manjaro does not have both PulseAudio and Pipewire installed as audio servers
pulseaudio is installed as default audio server
pipewire is installed by default as a video server for Wayland
pipewire-pulse and pw-jack to replace PulseAudio and JACK are not installed by default
