Audacious pauses playlist when screen is locked

Hi!

When playing a playlist of songs with audacious and the screen gets locked, audacious continues to play the current song till the end, but then pauses the playlist. When I log in again, audacious continues playing.

I haven’t found any settings, where I could control this.

Any hints? Thanks in advance and regards!

Hi @schmecks probably your issue is similar to this one [Understood] mpd/alsa/usb: Xfce power management / light-locker locks sound issue

Thus, the workaround for my use case - listening to music on headphones in a quiet dark room and not accepting to have the laptop screen disturb me - is to switch off screen locking by light-locker in the Xfce Power Manager. This workaround is not so nice for other use cases like using the computer as a jukebox for a party, where you want the screen to be dark, but you also want the computer locked to prevent other guests messing with it.

Awhile back light locker had a bug that I got impatient with. I noticed that xfce4-screensaver was installed on my Arch VM so I removed light-locker and went xfce4-screensaver to enable lock screen. It might be worth a try.

Check if you are member of the Audio group

groups | grep audio

If that command does not respond, add user to the audio group with this command

sudo gpasswd -a $USER audio

Yes, I am.

Many thanks, this did the trick!
