You can issue the 2 commands I posted under 436277 – Allow skip checking for updates when using metered network connection to just stop the Discover update notifier from ever coming up again. Considering that Discover upgrades just do not work and that the checks are done even when on potentially expensive mobile data connections, it is not that bad an idea to do that.
