[ARM Stable Update] 2020-09-08 - KDE Plasma and Applications, Thunderbird and Kernels

Firefox is spawning a massive amount of processes. My pbpro was plugged in via the barrel jack and 4.5 hours later I was at 6% battery with only a terminal, krdc and Firefox open. htop showed a massive amount of Firefox processes so I closed that. Didn’t seem to matter the amount of tabs, went down to just one and still it was hammering the box with processes. Once closed battery started charging back up.

Firefox 80 or 79 did change the way Firefox processes are handled. It’s not something I have noticed though, and I would expect it to depend a lot on the contents of the tabs.

@Strit With the latest update, what graphics driver (xf86 package) should we be using to connect the Pi 4b to a 4K 60Hz monitor?

I’m using the version of fturbo available from pacman at the moment. I’m not sure if this is the best way to go, and in any case I have no idea what to put in the display’s sample config.

(Though I guess I can fix that second thing with an auto-config…)
