Are updates imported collectively?

In the recent days individual apps, rarely several, have been updated.

Today, however, a whole bunch of different apps are updated at the same time.
Is it a coincidence that so many apps make a version jump at the same time or are updates possibly held back to install them together?

Hi @Nice,

I do not understand this:

Because at least for the last 5 years I’ve been using Manjaro on the Stable branch, updates have always come in batches…roughly about once a month.

Those are usually important security fixes or bug fixes that cannot wait until the next major update is rolled out after it has been through Unstable & Testing branches. For example, libpamac was recently updated so that it first does the system update from the repos before it updates AUR packages, after some issues were caused by pamac building instead of removing the sdl2 package after it had been moved to the AUR.

Some packages are also fast-tracked - I think firefox is one of them. When an update is released, it is quickly rolled out to the various Manjaro branches.

Thank you @Mirdarthos & @scotty65, I didn’t know of the major updates once in a month.
