Applications such as discord and Ms teams crashing

This seems to be happening at random, I witness it on mainly Ms Teams and Discord, sometimes Chrom(e/ium) as well. The apps crash and attempt to relaunch on their own. There are times when this doesn’t occur, but once it does, it’ll happen multiple times within half an hour easily. Here are the relavant logs from journalctl on discord latest crash:

Have you installed them from the AUR? I have good experiences with the Flatpak versions. For me, the AUR version always tends to work, work fine and then suddenly there are issues. That doesn’t happen with the Flatpak versions for me. Well, fingers crossed, not yet anyway.

I’ve been using the AUR versions, I’ll give FlatPak a shot and let you know, thanks!

Always ensure your system is up-to-date

sudo pacman -Syu

Then rebuild any AUR apps you rely on

pamac update --aur

I had already made sure its up-to-date, though I didn’t rebuild them.

I often see crash dumps in the log. This happens with flatpaked discord, native steam and vs code snap . I don’t feel that those errors influence my workflow but I wonder is it ok to have them repeat every day?

It is not mandatory to rebuild AUR packages after sync’ing your system BUT if you get weird issues with your AUR packages - then your first step is to rebuild those - because they may depend on updated system libraries - and then the old ones are no longer available.

TL:DR
Issues after sync with AUR packages - first step - rebuild the package.

fair, didn’t work though. I’ll give flatpak discord a go.

Same thing with the FlatPak versions

Hello,

I have something identical to your problem starting with September 2021, and I was curious how you solved the situation.

Thanks.
