Does anyone have an idea what causes this ?
Would it help if i post my system info ?
I thought this would be just a single command solution to fix, sorry.
Here is my system info:

Did some additional testing, search also does not work. And after some time it does start working again. I have yet to find how how it triggers to restore.
try switching to xorg/x11, and see if it helps
ah wayland ! I had no clue that could be it!
I’ve found my program.
I’ve created a script that allows me to set brightness of the screen using f keys.
If I disable and reboot my problem is gone! If i then run my script again i have my f-key light working and my problem is still gone. So apparently my systemctl script runs to early ?
My script does the following:
#!/bin/bash sudo chmod 666 /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness
This enables me to run the following keyboard command:
xbacklight -dec 10
and my systemctl file does the following:
[Unit] Description=Start scripts StopWhenUnneeded=yes Before=multi-user.target [Service] Type=oneshot RemainAfter Exit=yes Exec Start=/home/windhoos/scripts/xbrightness [Install] WantedBy=multi-user.target
Any suggestions how i should alter this script so make it run at the best time ?
Thank you.
i cant help you with that … but why do you need this script/service?
dont you have already the keys on your notebook?
can you set the f key directly in system settings/shortcuts - am not using gnome, but it should be possible to do it from there…
you can try changing it from before to after:
After=multi-user.target
or changing it from multi user to graphical:
WantedBy=graphical.target
but i really dont know, only guessing …
hi there,
Just set them so reboot.target, works like a charm!
Thanx for the help! your wayland comment saved the day!
