Any support for the Ryzen 2200G and 2400G for Linux?

#211

Try adding pcie_aspm=off in your boot parameters, to disable this Active-State Power Management feature.

#212

I rebooted a few times with aspm off and the error didn’t show anymore. Thnx!

#213

Where did you find these messages? journalctl does not show me these errors, although i have the same mainboard. Do you have any PCIe addin card?
Or could it be that you are on unstable branch and that is the difference?

#214

They showed up during boot, and in journalctl. I’m on testing and I do not have any addon cards, only some USB stuff (hub, keyboard, mice, cardreader).

#215

I noticed that sometimes when my system appears hung, I can still ssh in. Sometimes there is a kernel oops:

Mostly a part from systemd or KDE that oops. I thinks this related to kernel bug 196683.

But also an amdgpu problem:

What I do find strange, is that it says psp is hung. For security reasons I’ve disabled psp in the bios. I’m curious what happens when I enable psp.

#216

Well who is brave enough  ? Kernel 4.17:

#217

Ok i’m now on Kernel 4.17 … i’ll report how it pans out.
First boot no problems so far :).

EDIT: ok my ‘lockups’ are still present unfortunately but it got somehow ‘better’. It’s not the complete system freezing anymore … just X11 … the audio of my youtube video played without problem :). I just could not move the mouse anymore and screen froze.

#218

I have another experience. 4.17 gives much more lockups. Audio stops, can’t move mouse, can’t ssh in.

#219

Interessting … i’m not convinced anymore it is X11that freezes … at least not always … this time it seems USB subsystem stopped working as i could not use my USB Mouse or keyboard but as i tried to force shutdown KDE wanted to log off which it did. So X11 seemed fine just USB stopped working :frowning: .

#220

Well at least the boot problems seem to be fixed with Kernel 4.17.
I booted now several times (4-5) and it booted every time on first try.

#221

I just announced a new Alpha ISO with Kernel v4.17 powering it!

AMD Ryzen 3 2200G Drivers
#222

:slightly_smiling_face: @philm, I saw in on Manjaro’s official Twitter account and I Re-Tweeted it!

#223

https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=AMDKFD-GFX9-Vega-Patches

A little late for 4.17. If I have some spare time this weekend, I’ll try to build the latest kernel with these patches.

#224

Let me know the outcome. If it works, I may adopt them to linux417 series.

#225

I must say, the later 4.17rc0 kernels have been rock solid for me. No lockups and no hangs at boot.

#226

Hello. I’m sorry if it is knocking about and I cannot see it… is there an install ISO with KDE and linux 416?

#227

My experience is quite similar to stfn … although i still have sometimes problems on boot, but they are less frequent.
No lockups during runtime lately *knocks on wood*.

#228

As always my system locked up shortly after I posted here how rock solid it is.

#229

No, there isn’t. We only have one with linux417 for now.

#230

hopefully there is someone working on fix for black screen or w/e after restart… its worst thing on my 2400g atm on any linux distro… so I think this must be kernel based bug or something…
