Amdgpu driver fails to load

Yep, makes complete sense if you think about it, I feel a bit stupid not having tried this myself ;). I have NO idea where those .old files came from (some new feature of the later linux-firmware packages perhaps, to back up the old ones?). Anyway, it seems mkinitcpio picks up the .old file instead of the regular one, so that the correctly named firmware file is missing from initramfs. A simple sudo mkdir old, sudo mv *.old old/ and mkinitcpio -P solved the issue.

It’s now booting to desktop and the GPU is working as it should. Many thanks for the help!
