Akonadi and/or Korganizer sync is broken

Seems to be the similar issue…

I have spent hours now, just troubleshooting this, and akonadi seems to be the problem… It would not upload the locally created events to Radicale…
I have now temporarily given up on akonadi and korganizer and using thunderbird for now (with DAVx5 sync to the android phone on LAN)

@Mirdarthos can you please tell what exact permissions stuff you reset, that linked page is kinda long, and I am not in the mood of doing another long troubleshoot session…
I have checked the config files and all multiple times now…

Thunderbird setup was 2-mins literally…
I have never done anything with akonadi and KOrganizer, I do not use KDE apps for mails and stuff…

I may stick to thunderbird, but I read in one of the threads here that it is not very secure apparently.

A 10 min setup taking hours and still half broken, the cards made on phone syncs to KOrganizer but not other way around…
I am trying to do a LAN(+Netbird) based calendar system… so far Thunderbird + Radicale + ‘DAVx5+GoogleCalendar’ is working really well.

I am also looking for any FOSS calendar app to replace google calendar on android.

I am really sorry. I can’t remember which ones I did. And it doesn’t really matter to me anymore, since I’ve also switched to Thunderbird…

Try Calendar from:

It’s what I use and it works beautifully!

Perhaps see what Thunderbird Mobile has to offer on Android, considering you’re already happy with Thunderbird on Desktop. I’m unable to offer more than the following link, as my phone is firmly bound to the Google ecosystem.

Yes I tried it yesterday.

There’s only email part in that app, I do not see the calendar part anywhere.

That’s unfortunate. I recall there was a Thunderbird calendar addon/extension (Lightning), though I’m guessing Thunderbird Mobile probably doesn’t support extension functionality in the same way as the Desktop version.

@AwwsmGaurav

I had a quick look at the Calendar that @Mirdarthos mentioned (plus a few other apps from fossify.org) – the features are impressive.

yes I have downloaded it, an looking into that…

yea, I hope there is way to integrate that to cal.com, if not I may use it to schedule and stuff but use google calendar to sync, until I get the setup ready for self hosted cal.com instance where I think Radicale will directly integrate to cal.com instance.

I have a radicale Card-/Web-/CalDav server and I use Thunderbird for it, and only that on my PC.
Then I sync my tablet’s Calendar and Todo list with DavX5 and I can use it everywhere.

I am doing that same setup, although I need to add cal.com integration to it… so that it see the events and if there is an event I it makes that time slot unavailable, if there is no event then it makes it available so clients can request that slot.

Apparently the cal.com is a FOSS project and provides self hosting instances, so until I get a mini PC that can self-host cal.com and deploy to our own site, I have to use cloud service fot syncing to cal.com, and I think google calendar is currently the best way of doing that for me…

Although, I have set up the fossify calendar and added the radicale managed calendar to it via DAVx5.
