I have tried it with regular update procedure on my HP with GeForce GTX 1050 Mobile and after the update to 570 I can’t login into KDE Plasma. Spent like an hour with mhwd experiments to make it work - neighter free/nonfree drivers worked and at the end timeshift saved me. I hope there is a way to keep the 550 version or at least to mask somehow 570 to not auto-update
This is not recommended; especially with a rolling release distribution such as Manjaro or Arch.
Because you have used timeshift
there is no longer an issue to be diagnosed – this Support request is rather moot.
Once you have updated your machine to current, if the issue still exists, please create a new Support topic.

What’s top process when you logged in?
Check for the plymouth process.
For me it was 100% core utilization, black screen and nothing more.
Removed plymouth and now it’s fine.
And as was mentioned before - known issues for releases make sense.
