After update Plasma sends all new apps in the background

Hi

after I updated today Plasma 6 opens all apps with “always in background” checked. If I click the window an move it around the check box is empty again.
I tried to find an option to open the apps unchecked as before the update, but didn’t find one.
Maybe someone has an advice for me ?

regards,
Marcus

Generally, if a rule is set for ‘always in background’ then moving or selecting the window won’t toggle this.

You’re using X11, I can say it never happened with Wayland… but in the absence of accurate troubleshooting…

  • Look for clues with Journalctl -p3 -xb
  • I have seen this issue mentioned as an issue with ‘slide behind’ desktop effect, so you can try toggling that off and on.
  • Create a new user to make sure this is a USER data issue and not a problem with the update - if it is, then you need to clean up /home to remove the offending article.

Cleaning up generall starts with moving .config to .config-BUG, if that clears it up (after logging out/in again) then start moving folders and files back from ‘BUG’ until the issue returns…

Finally, when pasting code, please use the backticks (on the ~ tilde key):
code uses one backtick to start/finish a line

code block starts with three ``` marks and ends with three more.
