edit your post and provide full system info:

but it looks like you are on RAID instead of AHCI:

so switch to ahci in bios - dont switch if you are using windows, otherwise you will not be able to boot into it…

Not to be a smart-ass,but what has raid controller on nvme have to do with the fan not working?

it shouldnt have to do … but that was the first thing i noticed… and using raid on linux can cause issues related th suspend/hibernate etc…

No issues yet and I installed xsensors and lm_sensors, kinda blindly, and now the fan works perfectly.
Tested by compiling a kernel, not all the way, just to test, and the fan speed varied considerably, from 1700 to 2400 and then back to 0 after aborting the compile and temps appear to be normal as they always were.
I have no idea why the nvme is raid as it is a single ‘drive’ so to speak.

so now everything works? and lm_sensors are installed by default, and the xsensors just provide info, so have no idea how it could help…
its raid because thats the default in the bios

Yes everything is working perfectly. the xsensors program is kinda nice as i leave it up and can see the fan rpm go up and down. Perhaps it was happening to quickly for me to see with just the sensors program.
Default raid, guess that is raid0, correct?

well, glad it works…

xsensors a program designed to display all the related information from your motherboard sensors, it’s not getting the fans to do anything, this is usually managed by your firmware. Probably, you meant you could not detect the information or do you really say, the fans did not work, mechanically? Your temperatures were normal. Without fans you usually get quickly detectable overheating.
