it looks like you dont have installed nvidia drivers, provide output from:
mhwd -l && mhwd -li

@brahma

I appreciate your help!
Just to help getting this nailed down. This was not happening before. So why would nvidea drivers have anything to do?

so you dont have it installed … so install them:
sudo mhwd -a pci nonfree 0300

then open this file:
kate /etc/environment
and add there this line:
QT_LOGGING_RULES='*=false'
it will disable the kwin/qt logs, because the logs you provided were useless because of these kwin/qt logs …
then reboot

you are running open source nouveau drivers with nvidia, which is not good and can cause all kinds of graphical issues, so hopefully installing the proper drivers will fix the issue

@brahma

Since i installed manjaro (about 1 month ago) this did not happen.
Likely software updates entanglement?

you never know with nvidia/noveau … if you installed the nvidia drivers and you no longer be experiencing the taskbar issue, you will know it was related to the open source drivers …
if you dont planning to use nvidia you can then disable it, so that its not powered and thus you prolong your battery life and reduce the temperatures - thats what i did on mine laptop …

Will do. And report!

ok so if you no longer in the next days experience the taskbar issue, we can then disable the nvidia, if you dont want to use it …

Hi I have the same issue. It started less often but now happens pretty much every other time I restart/start the PC and I have to reboot 2-3 times to fix it. Sometimes when I log in the Manjaro splash screen loading gets stuck near the end for a bit before continuing.

I tried removing a whole lot of configs including plasma and changed to Breeze temporarily, didn’t help. Also I need the PC for Blender, I rather not fiddle with GPU drivers since the GPU seems to be working as good as it can with the drivers I have at the moment. I used to have terrible problems with the GPU drivers and Blender before. I can’t remember what exactly caused the problem, I think Noveau drivers? Not sure I’m a Linux noob.

Here’s the result of the command you asked OP about. Also I have no idea how to post this info so I hope it’s fine:

Edit: It might actually be the drivers. Very rarely when I start my PC the login screen is on some ridiculously low res like 800x600, then I gotta log in and log out to go back to 1080p
