After this latest update (2025-12-8), I’ve had two on-screen keyboard buttons stuck on my taskbar, and I can’t figure out how to remove them.
I tried the normal method of r-clicking on them, but there’s no option on the menu to remove them. Clicking on them takes me to system settings to choose the onscreen keyboard type (only option is IBus Wayland). I don’t see an option to remove them in the system settings either. Changing to IBus Wayland, changes both of the icons.
It’s more of an annoyance and a potential misclick as I have enough space on the taskbar, but still.
It makes me think of a device with touchscreen - if that is the case - Plasma may have recognised this and thus displaying the the option to access this.
The virtual keyboard framework is a required part of plasma-workspace - do you have any accessibility options activated in system settings?
I can think of these location in system settings
