I came to the conclusion via this route:
- Seeing this log entry:
thermal thermal_zone1: acpitz: critical temperature reached, shutting down- then this (acpitz being the sensor with a critical temperature of 20.8C)
reboot: HARDWARE PROTECTION shutdown (Temperature too high)
Yeah, that’s correct.
When watching the system it does the following:
- Begins to enter suspend
- wakes up a few seconds after the suspension
- immediately powers off the PC.
I’m not sure I understand what Hardware protection timed-out. means, what is it waiting for?
