A file manager like Caja?

Only in QT so it will follow the them. I am wondering if some issues are because of Dolphin & I kind of miss caja.

I recommend you continue to use Dolphin on KDE. However, if you want to install Caja as a secondary file manager, you can, but it may not work as expected, and will likely not have integration with KDE and other KDE-specific applications as Dolphin does.

sudo pacman -S caja

Solphin just doesn’t delete trash sometimes & it says files/foders don’t exist on the network drive, when I iam looking right at it.

Refresh the drive F5. What you describe isn’t uncommon in any file manager.

Due to the lack of integration, it’ll automount all external partitions even when automount is off in both caja and kde.

Won’t that also depend on whether Caja-specific plugins are installed? Either way, it’s still a good example to enhance the point.

I too dont suggest using something other than dolphin.

But if you must … then maybe use what lxqt uses - pcmanfm-qt

The archwiki is, as always, also a source

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/List_of_applications/Utilities#File_managers

pcmanfm-qt can be used as default in plasma - I know - I do  me and dolphin does not get along very well - mostly because the terminal F4 cannot be detatched.

pcmanfm does however build upon gvfs for various integrations so in addition it is recommend to install the packages needed for the integrations expected to work.

The Network drive has always opened in Caja, & trash emptied too. So this is all new for me.

It may well do…I didn’t explore it further as I figured out how to tame Dolphin a bit.

Well, sure. I mean, dolphins are not too hard to train, after all said and done. :dolphin:
