5.12 is installed but it's running 5.11 and 5.12 isn't an option in Grub

I have installed 5.12 via Manjaro Settings Manager and it shows as installed.

Yet a command inquiry shows I’m only running 5.11 and 5.12 is not available in the advanced options of Grub to boot into.

mhwd-kernel -li shows 5.10, 5.11 and 5.12 all installed.

Hi, did you reboot since you’ve installed 5.12 ?

3x’s. As I mentioned, 5.12 is not in the advanced options of Grub to choose. I wouldn’t have known that unless I had rebooted.

Give sudo update-grub and sudo mkinitcpio -P a try, then reboot.

bash: sudo-update-grub: command not found

There is typo. Do sudo update-grub

Installed.
Rebooted, checked Grub
No Joy.

Hmm.

First check if your sys is fully up-to-date:

sudo pacman -Syu

What you could also try is reinstalling the kernel package and post the output here:

sudo pacman -S linux512

This symptom is common when another distro controls the grub menu. The fix in that case is to boot to the host distro and update-grub there.

Ah yeah that makes sense. Didn’t even think about that.
OP didn’t tell, but according to his profile he has a dual manjaro setup it seems.

Ok, I tried sudo pacman -Syu & sudo pacman -S linux512 but still the same. I’m not running 5.12.

FYI, I ran sudo update-grub & sudo mkinitcpio -P in Gnome first and then in KDE.

Please check if os-prober is enabled (I assume that has to be enabled for your setup).
Post output of:

cat /etc/default/grub | grep PROBER

I just found this on another forum. Grub now defaults os-prober as disabled.

[bryank@Manjaro-KDE ~]$ cat /etc/default/grub | grep PROBER GRUB_DISABLE_OS_PROBER=false

On both installs?

Sorry, didn’t check both, just KDE. Give me a minute.

Same output:

cat /etc/default/grub | grep PROBER
GRUB_DISABLE_OS_PROBER=false

FWIW, I reinstalled KDE and now I’m running 5.12.
