PlayOnLinux - "iCCP:known incorrect sRGB profile"?
« on: 30. August 2013, 19:34:01 »
I get this error a lot, "iCCP:known incorrect sRGB profile"

How do I fix it, I tried folling a link to the POL site from a google search but the site is currently down.

I installed wine and pol from the repos on my 64-bit openbox syste. I configured wine for a 32-bit environment as per the arch wiki.

Any ideas?

I remember an old link saying it had something to do with PNG library libpng 1.6x here: http://www.playonlinux.com/en/topic-10442-New_Warning_Message_on_startup.html

I think there is a manual workaround to correct the faulty PNG icons in POL.

Hi mips:

the bug is originating from ImageMagick and not POL.
To fix this error try this:
Code: [Select]
su Enter your root password
Code: [Select]
cd /usr/share/playonlinux
Code: [Select]
for i in `find . | grep .png`; do convert "$i" -strip "$i"; done

is a pity,, I solved that.
You have some package libpng installed from AUR? because maybe there is a conflict with the official libpng packages

Nothing from AUR. Only have libpng 1.6.3-1 from extra and lib32-libpng 1.6.3-1 from multilib installed.

Well, ok... make one last attempt
maybe the previous command has not cleaned RGB profiles of all pictures

open the terminal  in your Home folder and try this:
(copy & paste into the terminal and then click enter)
Code: [Select]
for i in `pacman -Qql playonlinux`
do
convert "$i" -strip "$i"
done

It's the last thing that comes to mind

Use this:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56330401/playonlinux_images.tar.bz2

And extract it to /usr/share/playonlinux/

EDIT: This:

/usr/share/playonlinux/etc/onglet/wine.png

...might also have and incorrect profile, so you can do:

Code: [Select]
sudo convert /usr/share/playonlinux/etc/onglet/wine.png -strip /usr/share/playonlinux/etc/onglet/wine.png

@xtenshisanx,

Thnx, I also googled a lot and never found a solution. It's not a trainsmash as everything still works but the popups are annoying.

Permission error?! I'm stumped...

Well, I guess you could manually give it every permission you can...

There may be other files that have the incorrect sRGB profile, if they keep popping up, maybe in your home folder?
