Slow download speed for Manjaro Install-Medias ?!?
« on: 14. January 2013, 20:43:57 »
Seems lot of people claim about slow download-speed from sourceforge and always ask to create some torrents. Guys, maybe you missed a great feature of Sourceforge. They offer us 24 download mirrors in several locations.

Simple select "try another mirror" (marked in green) and select your wanted mirror (marked in orange). That's it.

Happy leeching.

I found that copying the URL for the "direct link", pasting into uGet, and letting uGet manage the download works well most of the time. And, they should also be resumable. Firefox FlamePig has screwed me one too many times with failed downloads and the inability to resume, even when a server supports resume. Opera is most often able to resume stalled downloads, (even from Rapidshare and restart from Depositfiles  ;) ).

I started the two Openbox downloads after starting ArchE17. They're finished. ArchE17 is still lumbering along.

Forget about them, all they do is bring the world down. Ignore them & you are bringing the world up, just by ignoring them.  ;D

A species of conscience, or an evolutionary mishap?

Downloading anything larger than a few hundred megs is difficult where I currently live - it took over a day and probably 6 tries to get a copy. Torrents are much better in these situations.

Some people threw earlier versions on, so:
Are there any plans to get up "official" torrents?

think if made a topic on this to communicate each other you can make just community-torrents as well...

im not in to torrent can help if you want but you need people to share it...and maintain the torrent?
