Update failure using pacman
« on: 08. March 2014, 20:08:21 »
Hi guys I have problem updating my system using pacman; I get the following error when trying to update my system using the
sudo pacman -Syyu
Code: [Select]
[shaakier@ManjaroXFCE ~]$ sudo pacman -Syyu
:: Synchronizing package databases...
error: failed to update core (unable to lock database)
error: failed to update extra (unable to lock database)
error: failed to update community (unable to lock database)
error: failed to update multilib (unable to lock database)
error: failed to synchronize any databases
error: failed to init transaction (unable to lock database)
error: could not lock database: File exists
if you're sure a package manager is not already
  running, you can remove /var/lib/pacman/db.lck
Please note that I did use the sudo pacman-mirrors -g command before the sudo pacman -Syyu

Please can you advise me :)
kind regards
Mo

Hi Hertz
Seems you operating on a very fast frequency, judging from your fast reply on this forum ;D

I did not change anything in terms of branches in  /etc/pacman-mirrors.conf
